About
Jazz Pianist and Composer
Armaan Mishra is a 17-year-old jazz pianist and composer whose playing pairs the rhythmic drive of bebop with a restless, contemporary harmonic imagination. He began at the piano at six, found jazz at eleven, and has spent the years since immersed in the language of Bud Powell, Herbie Hancock, and Brad Mehldau.
He leads the Armaan Mishra Trio and appears regularly as a sideman around New York, from intimate clubs to festival stages. His original compositions reach for the space between tradition and surprise — tunes that swing hard, then open into something unexpected.
Alongside performing, Armaan researches the theory and history of improvisation and teaches younger musicians through community programs. He is currently applying to study music in college.
